Managing Uncertainty: My ITD Post

Having recently returned to the U.S. after 10 years living in Shanghai, I continue to work with many clients in China through online therapy. Some are currently displaced due to the coronavirus outbreak, while others remain under varying levels of restriction in Shanghai. Regardless of their situation, a common thread runs through their experiences: uncertainty.

This uncertainty—about health, safety, the future, and a return to normalcy—can weigh heavily on mental health. It’s something I’ve witnessed firsthand in my sessions, and something I felt compelled to explore further.

I had the opportunity to write more about this for the International Therapist Directory, focusing on the psychological impact of uncertainty during this global public health crisis. You can read the full article here.

For those unfamiliar, the International Therapist Directory is a global resource connecting individuals with therapists around the world who offer support both in person and online. It's especially valuable during times like these, when access to care across borders matters more than ever.
