Therapist Consultation Group: Best Practices During COVID
The Shift to Online Therapy
The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it rapid changes to nearly every aspect of daily life—including how we offer care as therapists. Virtually overnight, many clinicians found themselves shifting from in-person sessions to online platforms, often with little time to prepare. Alongside this logistical shift came an emotional one: supporting clients through a time marked by heightened fear, grief, uncertainty, and collective stress.
Holding Space in Uncertain Times
As mental health professionals, we are trained to hold space for the distress of others—but the unique demands of this global crisis have called on us to adapt, reflect, and strengthen our own support systems as well. It’s become more important than ever to take time to pause, connect with colleagues, and share ideas for how we can best serve our clients and ourselves.
An Invitation to Reflect, Connect, and Learn
Starting the week of March 23rd, I will be offering a virtual consultation group for therapists and helping professionals navigating the complexities of practice during this time. The group will focus on best practices for working online, but will also provide space to reflect on clinical challenges and receive peer support.
What We’ll Cover
Participants can expect guidance on:
Managing a remote therapy practice with confidence and care
Supporting clients experiencing elevated anxiety, isolation, or grief
Maintaining therapeutic presence and boundaries in a virtual space
Practitioner self-care and emotional resilience
Ethical and logistical considerations when practicing across state or national borders
Why Join?
This group is intended not only as a space for learning, but also for connection. While each of us continues to support others through a time of uncertainty, it’s equally important that we stay connected to community and professional grounding. Sharing experiences and resources can reduce the isolation many therapists are also feeling—and help us show up more fully for the people we work with.
If you are a therapist or helping professional interested in joining, please feel free to reach out for more details.
Let’s continue to care for others, and also for each other.
